The Men's Club of Congregation Shaarey Israel enrich our synagogue by serving in many important roles. We host a variety of activities that are educational, informative, social, and entertaining. for the Synagogue and for our community. We conduct Sunday breakfast programs with informational speakers which are instructive and enlightening. Our monthly board meetings are on the first Tuesday of each month. We act as ushers for the High Holidays, host the Siyum for the Firstborn before Passover every year, and sponsor a community-wide barbecue at Montebello Day. Our activities include at least one major fund raiser during the year to benefit the Shul and the community. The Mother’s Day Breakfast is a tradition that is one of the hit programs at Congregation Shaarey Israel.
All men are invited to join the Men's Club and get involved with a great group of guys. We welcome your support, your membership, and your ideas.
SISTERHOOD

The Sisterhood of Congregation Shaarey Israel is an active group of women, who sponsor educational, cultural and informational programs, community service and social functions, and exciting fundraisers. Experience the joy of long-lasting friendships and working together while supporting the Congregation. Below is a small list of just some of the activities that the Sisterhood sponsors:
Trees can be ordered by calling Roberta Lieman, 845-357- 8596. Mail checks (payable to Shaarey Israel) to Roberta at 4312 Warrens Way, Wanaque, NJ 07465. Telephone 973-706- 5176. Cost is $12 per tree.
Gift Shop: Shop and save at CSI - High Holidays, Purim, Passover, Graduation, Bar/Bat mitzvah, Judaica, hostess gifts – in fact, gifts for all occasions. Call Louisa DePaola at 845-533- 4069 or 917-635- 4069 or speak to Peggy in the office about the purchase of an item or two.
Donor cards: Call Esther Ingber 845-354- 3787 evenings. Support Shaarey Israel - acknowledge an event in honor or in memory of a loved one. Three cards, $10.00; $4.00 per card if Esther mails it for you.
The Rhoda Bloom Food Pantry of the Jewish Community Center of Rockland: Sisterhood proudly supports the only Kosher food pantry in Rockland County. We provide nearly 100 packages of cookies every month to the pantry and assist in the monthly packing and distribution of food. Please contact Sandra Chaitin 845-727-4199 for information about donating cookies and volunteering your time.
Center for Safety and Change: There is a Wishing Well located in the Sisterhood gift shop which collects women’s toiletries. Evie Maher (201 307 0346) takes these donations and make beautiful gift baskets, which are given to the women in this shelter.
There sometimes are special projects and appeals and needs, which our board, will consider through out the year.
Monthly Meetings: The Board of the Sisterhood Trustees meets every month (except July) on the first Thursday of the month. All Sisterhood members are welcome to attend. On the second Thursday of the month, we provide an entertaining and educational meeting for all members and friends of the Synagogue (including men). Annual programs include our “Paid Up Membership Dinner”, “Woman of the Year” celebration and our annual Installation of officers.
